Medical malpractice actions against doctors, nurses, and hospitals for infections arising during hospitalization are rare.  Usually, they are considered a risk of surgery or hospitalization unless it can be clearly established that medical personnel, through an act or omission, were the proximate cause of the infection.  Continue reading “Infections”


Governor Jan Brewer is asking the Arizona state legislature to expand existing Medicaid (AHCCCS) coverage to thousands of working poor.  Federal funds will pay for this expanded coverage but the legislature appears reluctant.  If you have been denied AHCCCS coverage in the past you should watch this issue closely and reapply if the legislature accepts the Governor’s expansion.
